But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:27-31
In 2014, I had the privilege of participating in an International Scripture Blitz to Madrid, Spain. So going to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, my thinking was, “Business as usual – go in and share the Gospel with any and every one everywhere.” Wrong!! The very real threat of arrest and imprisonment in a Muslim-controlled country was brought home to me by my Malaysian brothers. There would be no street witnessing unless you could do it inconspicuously, not drawing attention to yourself. That was going to be difficult for me – I have a pale face, am wearing an Akubra hat and standing head and shoulders above most people!
“The very real threat of arrest and imprisonment in a Muslim-controlled country was brought home to me by my Malaysian brothers.”
As I shared with the blitz team in Kota Kinabalu, the Lord graciously encouraged me that he had this in hand and it was going to be ‘Good – Different’ as the supermarket slogan goes! From school to school, the Muslim students were segregated from those of Christian families as Testaments were handed out. Then we witnessed firsthand the HOW. As the students went either to recess or left school for the day, they shared the gift received with their Muslim friends.
Thank you for your prayers that were answered in so many ways each day. “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord”
